2024 Rhode Island College Women's Volleyball Season Summary

Providence, R.I--Head Coach Jenn Cabral's team closed out the 2024 season with a 13-10 overall record and a 3-5 mark (sixth place tie) in the Little East. 
 
Senior outside hitter Rhiannon Hodovanec (Feeding Hills, Mass.) closed out her career having played in 300 sets in 92 matches. She hit .079 (524-376-1,875) with 524 kills (1.75/set), 43 assists (0.14/set), 93 service aces (0.31/set), 587 digs (1.96/set) and 53 blocks (0.18/set) for her career.
 
As a senior in 2024, Hodovanec played in 67 sets in 23 matches. She hit .047 (115-94-451) with 115 kills (1.72/set), four assists (0.05/set), one service ace (0.01/set), 70 digs (1.04/set) and six blocks (0.09/set). Hodovanec recorded 13 digs and eight kills in a 3-0 win vs. Western Connecticut on Nov. 9. She registered 13 kills in a 3-1 win Elms on Sept. 30. Hodovanec racked up 13 kills in a 3-2 setback vs. Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 9.
 
As a junior in 2023, Hodovanec played 88 sets in 24 matches. She hit .066 (139-103-547) with 139 kills (1.58/set), 18 assists (0.20/set), 23 aces (0.26/set), 245 digs (2.78/set) and 21.0 total blocks (0.24/set). Hodovanec had four double-doubles (kills-digs) on the season. She registered double digits in digs 13 times. Hodovanec recorded 18 kills and 15 digs in a 3-2 loss vs. Nichols on Sept. 9. She racked up a season-high 25 digs in a 3-2 win over Bard on Nov. 4.
 
As a sophomore in 2022, Hodovanec played in 65 sets in 21 matches. She hit .107 (134-86-449) with 134 kills (2.06/set), nine assists (0.14/set), 27 service aces (0.42/set), 151 digs (2.32/set) and 11 blocks (0.17/set). Hodovanec notched four double-digit kill efforts and seven double-digit dig matches. She totaled three double-doubles on the season. Hodovanec racked up 10 kills, 17 digs and five service aces in a 3-2 win against Elms on Sept. 1. She eclipsed 20 kills and 20 digs in a dominant performance in a 3-2 Little East win vs. Castleton on Sept. 23. She recorded a 13-kill, 22-dig double-double in a 3-2 victory over Westfield State on Oct. 22.
 
As a freshman in 2021, Hodovanec played in 80 sets in 24 matches. She hit .100 (136-93-428) with 136 kills (1.70/set), 12 assists (0.15/set), 42 service aces (0.53/set), 121 digs (1.51/set) and 15 blocks (0.19/set). Hodovanec had four matches with 10-plus kills and digs on the year. She tallied a season-high 13 kills in a 3-1 defeat against UMass Dartmouth on Sept. 29. Hodovanec notched eight service aces with 12 kills and 11 digs in the squad's, 3-2, win versus Lasell on Oct. 21. 
 
She is a medical laboratory science major and a 2020 graduate of Agawam High School.
 
Junior middle hitter Bethanie Jean-Philippe (Cranston, R.I.) played in eight sets in five matches. She hit -.077 (6-8-26) with six kills (0.75/set), one dig (0.20/set) and three blocks (0.60/set).  
 
Junior outside hitter Olivia Miranda (Tiverton, R.I) played in five sets in four matches. She hit .000 (3-3-4) with three kills (0.6/set).  
 
Junior middle hitter Sydnee Pires (Rochester, Mass.) played in 79 sets in 23 matches. She hit .189 (134-57-407) with 134 kills (1.70/set), 32 digs (0.41/set) and 30 blocks (0.38/set). Pires reached double digits in kills four times. She recorded a season-high 12 kills in a 3-0 win vs. Salem State on Sept. 24. Pires posted 11 kills and six digs in a 3-1 loss at Keene State on Nov. 2.
 
Junior middle hitter Andrayah Williams (North Providence, R.I.) played in 78 sets in 22 matches. She hit .234 (138-57-346) with 138 kills (1.77/set), 20 digs (0.26/set) and 41 blocks (0.53/set). Williams recorded 11 kills in a 3-1 win at Fitchburg State on Aug. 31 and again in a 3-0 win over New England College on Nov. 2. 
 
Sophomore setter Yuleisy Alvelo (San Juan, Puerto Rico) played in 75 sets in 23 matches. She hit .035 (15-10-143) with 15 kills (0.20/set), 606 assists (8.08/set) and 226 digs (3.01/set). Alvelo recorded 13 double-doubles (assists-digs) on the season. She reached double digits in assists 20 times and 14 times in digs. Alvelo recorded a season-high 44 assists in a 3-2 loss vs. Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 9. She posted 37 assists and 18 digs in a 3-1 win vs. Fitchburg State on Aug. 31. Alvelo racked up 41 assists, five service aces and 14 digs in a 3-1 victory at Elms on Sept. 30. She was named the Little East Offensive Player of the Week once on the season.
 
Sophomore defensive specialist Carolyn Bailey (Ipswich, Mass.) played in 78 sets in 22 matches. She hit –0.205 (0-8-39) with 16 service aces (0.21/set) and 311 digs (3.99 set). Bailey recorded double-digit digs 14 times. She registered a season-high 32 digs to go along with eight assists and three service aces in a 3-1 win vs. Fitchburg on Aug. 31. 
 
Sophomore defensive specialist Marina Colonis (Waterford, Conn.) played in 80 sets in 23 matches. She hit .083 (35-17-218) with 35 kills (0.44/set), 14 assists (0.18/set), 20 service aces (0.25/set), 212 digs (2.65/set) and two blocks (0.03/set). Colonis recorded double-digits in digs 10 times. She registered a season-high 23 digs in a 3-2 loss vs. Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 9. She posted 20 digs in a win over Fitchburg on Aug. 31. Colonis racked up seven kills and 12 digs in a 3-0 win vs. Southern Maine on Oct. 19.
 
Sophomore defensive specialist Brookelyn Feola (Riverside, R.I.) played in 21 sets in 11 matches. She hit .105 (5-3-19) with five kills (0.24/set), 11 digs (0.52/set) and two total blocks (0.10/set). 
 
Sophomore right side hitter Talia Lewis (Sacramento, Calif.) played in 13 sets in seven matches. She hit .021 (12-11-48) with 12 kills (0.92/set), 10 digs (0.77/set) and three blocks (0.23/set). 
 
Sophomore setter Grace Luchka (North Scituate, R.I.) played in 25 sets in 14 matches. She hit –0.130 (1-4-23) with one kill (0.04/set), 82 assists (3.28/set), 34 digs (1.36/set) and three total blocks (0.12/set). Luchka posted 23 assists and five digs in a 3-1 setback at Emmanuel on Oct. 16. She registered 14 assists and nine digs in a 3-1 loss at Westfield State on Sept. 7.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) was named Second Team All-Little East. Marines played in 71 sets in 20 matches. She hit .187 (241-93-791) with 241 kills (3.40/set), 210 digs (2.96/set) and 18 blocks (0.25/set). Marines recorded eight double-doubles (kills-digs) on the season. She registered double digits in kills 12 times and 13 times for digs. Marines racked up a season-high 22 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 win at Fitchburg State on Aug. 31. She registered 17 digs in a 3-1 loss at Westfield State on Sept. 7. Marines his .567, knocking down 17 kills without an error, and picked up 11 digs in a 3-0 win vs. Mass. Maritime on Oct. 8.
 
Sophomore setter Paula Pesoa (Johnston, R.I.) played in eight sets in seven matches. She hit .125 (3-2-8) with three kills (0.38/set), eight digs (1.00/set) and one block (1.00/set). Pesoa registered seven assists and two digs in a 3-0 win vs. Mass. Maritime on Oct. 8.
 
Freshman defensive specialist Daniella Escudero (East Providence, R.I) played in 79 sets in 23 matches. She hit .148 (5-1-27) with five kills (0.06/set), 33 service aces (0.42/set) and 226 digs (2.86/set). She recorded double digits in digs nine times. Escudero registered a season-high 24 digs in a 3-0 win over West Conn on Nov. 9. 
 
Freshman outside hitter Olivia Rollinson (Coventry, R.I) played in 75 sets in 23 matches. She hit .127 (150-87-498) with 150 kills (2.00/set), 22 digs (0.30/set) and 15 blocks (0.20/set). She recorded a season-high 13 kills in a 3-1 loss vs. Westfield State on Sept. 7. Rollinson posted 11 kills in a 3-2 setback vs. Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 9 and 10 winners and three blocks in a 3-1 setback vs. Salve Regina on Oct. 24.
 
Freshman defensive specialist Caroline Morrell (Gorham, Maine) was named to the Little East Sportsmanship Team. Morrell played in 80 sets in 23 matches. She hit .214 (4-1-14) with four kills (0.05/set), 37 service aces (0.46/set) and 70 digs (0.88/set).  Morrell had nine digs in a 3-0 win over Southern Maine on Oct. 19. She posted four service aces and six digs in a pair of wins over Dean on Sept. 12 and Elms on Sept. 30.
