Box Score Winter Haven, Fla.--Senior pitcher Mike Webb (Pawtucket, RI) allowed just one run on seven hits over six innings of work as the Rhode Island College baseball team defeated RIT, 14-1, at Chain O'Lakes Park on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior third basemen Ray Zincone (West Warwick, RI) hit a single to left field to score junior right fielder Nick D'Ambra (Coventry, RI) to get the Anchormen on the board in the top of the first inning.
• The Anchormen added two more runs in the first with RBI singles from senior designated hitter Ryan Rotondo (Warwick, RI) and classmate catcher Sam Franco (Cranston, RI).
• A pair of Anchormen crossed the plate in the second inning on a passed ball and a wild pitch to extend the club's lead to, 5-0.
• D'Ambra tripled down the right field line to lead off the third inning. Senior second basemen Nate Vigeant (Coventry, RI) hit a ground ball to second to score D'Ambra and increase the lead to eight, 9-1. On the following at-bat, freshman first basemen John Willette (Johnston, RI) hit his fourth home run of the season.
• The Anchormen scored twice in the seventh inning and pushed across singles runs in the eighth and ninth to pick up the victory.
• Sophomore pitcher Dan Kennedy (Johnston, RI) pitched three scoreless innings in relief to earn the save (1).
• RIT sophomore third basemen Patrick Blackall (Hershey, PA) went 2-for-3 with a walk.
BY THE NUMBERS
• Willette went 1-for-2 with a home run and four runs scored. D'Ambra went 2-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored. Rotondo went 2-for-3 with two walks, one run scored and an RBI.
• Eight Anchormen registered at least one run scored.
• RIC outhit RIT, 14-7.
