Box Score Buzzards Bay, Mass.--Sophomore midfielder Olivia Carpenito (Wilmington, MA) notched career-highs with eight goals and nine points as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team fell to Mass Maritime, 19-14, at Clean Harbor Stadium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen scored the first goal 1:29 into the game when Carpenito scored with an unassisted strike.
• A junior midfielder Giana Ritchie (Cumberland, RI) goal on a free position attempt put RIC on top by two, 2-0, with 26:04 to play in the opening half.
• Carpenito scored three goals in the opening half as the Anchorwomen trailed, 7-4, going into the intermission.
• The Buccaneers scored the first three goals of the second half, before another Ritchie goal, to build an 11-5 advantage.
• Carpenito rattled off three consecutive goals to cut the Buccaneers lead down to three, 11-8.
• The Buccaneers responded with three straight goals of their own to build a seven goal, 15-8, advantage and eventually won by five.

• RIC freshman goalkeeper Shannon Duckworth (Wakefield, RI) recorded double-digit saves for the second straight game with 10.
• MMA held the ground ball advantage, 41-31.
• RIC converted seven-of-nine free position shots, while Mass Maritime was 3-for-5.
