Box Score Gorham, Maine—Senior midfielder Taylor Theriault (Lincoln, RI) and classmate attacker Alasondra Apici (Providence, RI) each scored a pair of goals as the Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team fell at Southern Maine, 14-6, in a Little East Conference game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Southern Maine jumped out to a 3-0 lead, led by a pair of goals from sophomore midfielder Ruth Nadeau (Bath, ME).
• RIC got on the board 3:04 into the contest when an unassisted goal from freshman midfielder Giana Ritchie (Cumberland, RI) made the score 3-1.
• The Anchorwomen trailed 8-2 before a pair of goals from Apici just a minute apart late in the first half made the score 8-4.
• Southern Maine held a 9-4 lead at halftime.
• The Huskies extended their advantage early in the second half with three unanswered goals to open the stanza and take a 12-4 lead on a goal from freshman midfielder Alex Farley (Buxton, ME) with 10:23 left in the contest. The Huskies scored two more to secure the league victory.
• Junior goalkeeper Julia Eaton (Cumberland, RI) made 17 saves in the setback for RIC, while junior Hala Van Nostrand (Granby, CT) notched three stops in the victory for the hosts.
BY THE NUMBERS
• Southern Maine outshot RIC by a 48-13 margin. The Huskies also held a 29-25 advantage in ground balls for the contest.
