Gorham, Maine--Junior center fielder Josh Silva (Seekonk, MA) scored on classmate third baseman Ryan Rotondo's (Warwick, RI) walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to lead the No.3-seeded Rhode Island College baseball team to a, 5-4, victory against No. 4-seeded Eastern Connecticut in game three of the 2019 Little East Baseball Championship at Southern Maine's Ed Flaherty Field on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC freshman left fielder Joseph Coro (North Providence, RI) went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, while junior second baseman Nate Vigeant (Coventry, RI) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

• Junior designated hitter Ray Zincone (West Warwick, RI) was 1-for-3 with two RBI in the win for the Anchormen.

• Freshman catcher Matt Malcolm (East Lyme, CT) went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the setback for Eastern Connecticut.

• RIC junior starter Mike Webb (Pawtucket, RI) allowed one run on four hits to go along with six strikeouts in eight innings of work. Junior Jake Rockefeller (Cumberland, RI) earned the win (5-4) in relief for the Anchormen.

• Senior Jordan Muchin (West Hartford, CT) took the loss (4-5) for Eastern Connecticut, giving up five runs on 11 hits with seven strikeouts in eight innings.

•  RIC got on the board in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Vigeant.

• Eastern Connecticut responded in the top of the second with an RBI from senior first baseman Alex Parkos (Meriden, CT).

• RIC extended the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the third on a two-run double from Zincone. The Anchormen then tacked on an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth for the 4-1 advantage.

• ECSU tallied three runs, two of them unearned, with two outs in the top of the ninth to knot the game, 4-4.

• In the bottom of the ninth, Silva led off with a single and stole second base. Silva came around to score on Rotondo's single to left center to propel the Anchormen to the, 5-4, victory.

• RIC tied the program record for wins in a season with the victory.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will take on No. 2-seeded UMass Boston on Thursday, May 9 (7 p.m.) in game six of the 2019 Little East Baseball Championship.
