Smithfield, R.I.--Senior Haley Oliver (Coventry, R.I.) finished fourth overall and broke the program record in the 1,500m (4:40.22) as Rhode Island College competed at the Ocean State Cup, hosted by Bryant on Saturday.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchorwomen and Anchormen combined to finish fourth (seven teams) with a team score of 76.0 URI combined for 509.5 points to win the meet.
 
• RIC was the highest-finishing Div. III institution at the meet, trailing only three Div. I programs.
 
THE TOP PERFORMERS
• Oliver's record comes two years after she set the previous record in the 1,500m.

• Freshman Naibel Noriega (Providence, R.I.) finished fourth in the 4x100m relay (49.28).
 
• Sophomore Quiana Pezza (Cranston, R.I.) finished fourth in the 4x100m relay (49.28) and 11th in both the 200m (25.71) and long jump (4.97m).
 
• Sophomore Bendu Kamara (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished fourth in the 4x100m relay (49.28), 10th in the 100m (12.74) and 15th in the 200m (26.46).
 
• Freshman Maire Scanlon (Rocky Hill, Conn.) finished fourth in the 4x100m relay (49.28) and eighth in the long jump (5.12m).
 
• Freshman Shanna Correia (West Warwick, R.I.) finished eighth in the high jump (1.47m).
 
• Junior Lexie Zakrzewski (Taunton, Mass.) finished eighth in the 400m (1:02.82).
 
• Sophomore Taryn Reed (Pascoag, R.I.) finished 11th in the hammer (42.67m).
 
• Sophomore Funmilayo Mclin (Providence, R.I.) finished 13th in the hammer (41.20m).
 
• Junior Prudence Chikie-Okeke (North Smithfield, R.I.) finished 14th in the discus (28.45m) and 18th in the hammer (35.65m).

• Freshman Zoe Matos (Wakefield, R.I.) finished 15th in the high jump (1.37m).

• Sophomore Mariangely Rodriguez (Providence, R.I.) finished 20th in the hammer (32.98m) and 23rd in the discus (24.15m).

• Freshman Stephanie Sican Velez (Providence, R.I.) finished 24th in the 200m (28.07).
