Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College freshman Naibel Noriega (Providence, R.I.) was named the Little East Women's Rookie Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at Eastern Connecticut's Bonnie Edmondson Classic on April 17.
 
It is the third time this spring that Noriega has earned this award.
 
She finished first in both the 400m (58.48) and the 4x100m relay (48.60).
 
The Anchorwomen finished third (eight teams) with a team score of 129.0. Eastern Connecticut won the meet with a team score of 160.0.
 
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2026 Little East Track and Field Championship, hosted by Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, April 25.
