Willimantic, Conn.—Freshman Naibel Noriega (Providence, R.I.) finished first in the 400m (58.48) as Rhode Island College finished second at Eastern Connecticut's Bonnie Edmondson Classic on Friday.
 
THE BASICS
• The Anchorwomen finished third (eight teams) with a team score of 129.0. Eastern Connecticut won the meet with a team score of 160.0.
 
THE TOP PERFORMERS
• Noriega also finished first in the 4x100m relay (48.60).
 
• Sophomore Quiana Pezza (Cranston, R.I.) finished first in both the 200m (25.43) and the 4x100m relay (48.60) and fifth in the long jump (5.08m).

• Sophomore Bendu Kamara (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished first in the 4x100m relay (48.60), second in the 100m (12.61) and third in the 200m (26.09).
 
THE REST OF THE FIELD
• Freshman Maire Scanlon (Rocky Hill, Conn.) finished first in the 4x100m relay (48.60), fourth in the long jump (5.25m) and 11th in the 200m (28.12).
 
• Freshman Shanna Correia (West Warwick, R.I.) finished first in the high jump (1.51m), third in the triple jump (10.21m) and ninth in the triple jump (27.76).
 
• Freshman Zoe Matos (Wakefield, R.I.) finished second in the 400m hurdles (1:12.77), fourth in the high jump (1.41m) and ninth in the javelin (21.46m).
 
• Sophomore Taryn Reed (Pascoag, R.I.) finished third in the hammer (41.94m).

• Freshman Aaliyah Barbour-Chamblee (Providence, R.I.) finished third in the 400m (1:01.62).
 
• Freshman Kathryn Patalano (Riverside, R.I.) finished fourth in the 800m (2:35.46).
 
• Sophomore Funmilayo Mclin (Providence, R.I.) finished fifth in the hammer (41.59m).
