Providence, R.I--Rhode Island College junior guard Abby Wager (Mansfield, Mass.) was named the Little East Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance during a 2-0 week for the Anchorwomen.
It is the second time this season that Wager has received this award.
Wager racked up a career-high 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds, three assists and four steals as RIC knocked off No. 25 Southern Maine, 70-62, on Feb. 4. She totaled 17 points, eight boards, two assists, three blocks and a steal as the Anchorwomen raised their current win streak to seven games in a 64-52 win at UMass Boston on Feb. 7.
For the season, she has played in 21 games, starting all of them. Wager is averaging 14.9 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.1 bpg and 2.1 spg.
Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove's team is 17-5 overall and 11-2 in the Little East.
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at home vs. Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, Feb. 11 (5:30 p.m.).
