Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College has named Lynne Keenan and Leah Stevens as assistant softball coaches. They will assist Head Coach Lauren Hatfield with all phases of the RIC softball program.

"Their passion, experience and dedication are the perfect fit for our program's continued growth and success. Together, we look forward to building champions on and off the field!"
Keenan comes to RIC with a wealth of knowledge as she has been involved in coaching at the college and high school levels for the past 40 years. Most recently, Keenan served as the head varsity coach at Groton Dunstable Regional High School (2016-2022). Previously, she was an assistant coach at Fitchburg State University (2007-2010).
In addition to her coaching experiences, Keenan also played semi-professional fastpitch softball for the Westfield Whips. In her time playing with the Whips, she participated in the Major League Nationals twice and had the opportunity to play in several international tournaments with the U.S. Eastern All-Star Team.
She is the owner/operator of Results Fitness by Lynne and earned her nursing degree at MWCC.
Stevens brings over 30 years of experience as both a player and a coach. Her coaching background includes more than five years at the AAU level with various organizations, as well as having served as the assistant director of softball at Hit Dawg Training Facilities.
Stevens earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from Quinnipiac University in 2002, where she was a four-year member of the softball team. As a catcher, she earned ISA All-American honors, was a two-time Atlantic Coast League All-Star and was named to both the Boston Globe and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic Teams.
