Lauren Hatfield

Lauren Hatfield begins her second season as the Rhode Island College head softball coach.

Hatfield has over 26 years of coaching experience at the college and high school level.
 
Prior to coming to RIC, she spent six seasons as the associate head softball coach at Worcester State. Before joining the staff at Worcester State, Hatfield spent three years at Franklin Pierce University as an assistant and the head softball coach where she led her team to a record number of wins in one season. 
 
Her college playing experience includes playing shortstop and third base at Boston College, where she led her team in batting average her freshman season and as a catcher at Franklin Pierce University where she holds the program record for highest single season batting average (.481). 
 
A two-time Div. 1 high school state championship catcher at Leominster High School, she has been inducted into the Leominster High School Hall of Fame both as a softball team member and as an individual for her achievements as a three sport athlete. Hatfield has also been inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame. 
 
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Franklin Pierce in 1995 and is currently completing a master’s degree in sports management and athletic administration at Lasell.
