Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College sophomore Arianna De Thomas (Providence, R.I.) was named the Little East Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance in a 2-0 week for the Anchorwomen. It is the second time this season that De Thomas has received this award.
She went 2-0 at both No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles as RIC defeated Clark, 7-0, on Sept. 16 and Bridgewater State, 5-2, on Sept. 20. De Thomas won in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at first singles and paired with classmate Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wis.) for a 6-2 victory at second doubles vs. the Cougars. She won in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at No. 1 singles and paired with Houwers for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles as RIC opened LEC play vs. the Bears.
For the season, she is 4-0 at both No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles.
Head Coach Adam Spring's team is 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Little East.
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Emerson on Wednesday, Sept. 24 (3:30 p.m.).
