Bridgewater, Mass.--Sophomore Arianna De Thomas (Providence, R.I.) picked victories at both No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles to help Rhode Island College open Little East play with a 5-2 win over Bridgewater State at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) and sophomore Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) as the duo cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 1 singles as the Anchorwomen took two of three in pairs to earn the match's first point.
 
• Peacock (6-2, 6-0) and De Thomas (6-0, 6-1) opened singles play with wins at No. 2 and 1 singles, respectively.
 
• After a Bear win, freshman Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.) clinched the win with a (6-0, 6-2) victory at fifth singles.
