2024 Rhode Island College Women's Cross Country Season Summary

Providence, R.I.—Head Coach Timothy Rudd's team finished the 2024 season with one runner competing at the NCAA Div. III National Championship, held at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. On Nov. 23.
 
The Anchorwomen had one runner compete at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Championship, hosted by Connecticut College on Nov. 16. Rhode Island College finished sixth (eight teams) with a team score of 168.0 at the Little East Championship, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Nov. 2.
 
Fifth-year Trinity Hayes (Providence, R.I.) placed 36th (21:04.20) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. Hayes finished 50th (26:40) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed 155th (22:13.50) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Hayes finished 283rd (23:57.79) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21. She finished 124th (28:08.60) at the Trinity Invitational on Sept. 7.
 
As a senior in 2021, Hayes finished 47th (26:02.0)  at the Little East Championship on Oct. 30. Hayes finished 132nd (23:19.54) at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 9. She finished 221st (26:21.80) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept 18.
 
As a sophomore in 2019, Hayes placed 49th (22:43.63) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. She registered a 155th (29:34) place finish at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 19. Hayes finished 150th (22:57.48) at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 12. She placed 225th (24:10.30) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21. She finished 125th overall (24:02.7) at the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Road Race on Sept. 7.
 
She is a justice studies major and a 2018 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School.
 
Junior Haley Oliver (Coventry, R.I.) finished 165th (22:44.5) at the 2024 NCAA Div. III Championship on Nov. 23. Oliver was making her first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championship. She was the first Anchorwoman to qualify for the NCAA Women's Cross Country Championship since RIC Athletic Hall of Famer Sharon (Hall) Galloway '87 went in 1984.
 
Oliver earned All-New England and All-Mideast Championship honors with a 20th place finish (21:58.50) at the NCAA Mideast Championship on Nov. 16.
 
 
She was named the Little East Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year, First Team All-Little East and was the LEC's Individual Champion with a first place finish (18:09.60) for the second consecutive season at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2.
 
Oliver finished first (22:11) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed fourth (18:02.60; second-fastest time in school history) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Oliver finished 25th (18:20.45; third-fastest time in school history) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21. She finished sixth (19:49.60) at the Trinity Invitational on Sept. 7. Oliver was named the Little East Runner of the Week four times on the season.
 
Junior Sasha Sainristil (Cranston, R.I.) finished 76th (26:06.90) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. Sainristil finished 124th (32:17) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed 215th (25:56.00) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Sainristil finished 325th (27:04.09) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21.
 
Sophomore Marlyn Dunlop (Providence, R.I.) placed 78th (27:09.20) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. She finished 233rd (30:56.40) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10.
 
Sophomore Shirley Portillo (North Providence, R.I.) finished 70th (24:28.70) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. Portillo finished 103rd (30.05) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed 210th (24:50.90) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Portillo finished 316th (26:08.44) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21. She finished 122nd (27:52.30) at the Trinity Invitational on Sept. 7.
 
Sophomore Lexie Zakrzewski (Taunton, Mass.) finished 73rd (24:42.50) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. Zakrzewski finished 114th (31:16) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed 216th (25:59.00) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Zakrzewski finished 313th (25:54.52) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21. She finished 130th (30:18.50) at the Trinity Invitational on Sept. 7.
 
Freshman Kandace Daniel (East Providence, R.I.) placed 81st (27:39.90) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. She finished 235th (33:46.30) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10.
 
Freshman Bendu Kamara (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 69th (24:24.50) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. Kamara finished 105th (30:19) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed 207th (24:35.30) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Kamara finished 22nd (26:28.95) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21.
 
Freshman Quiana Pezza (Cranston, R.I.) finished 62nd (23:27.60) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. She placed 201st (24:16.60) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Pezza finished 295th (24:43.67) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21. She finished 128th (28:56.40) at the Trinity Invitational on Sept. 7.
 
Freshman Gianna Wilson (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 63rd (23:28.40) at the Little East Championship on Nov. 2. Wilson finished 90th (28:56) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 20. She placed 226th (28:30.00) at the Keene State Invitational on Oct. 10. Wilson finished 311th (25:41.85) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 21.
