Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College fifth-year
Lauren Macera (Cranston, R.I.) of the women's tennis team received the Bourget Family Award at the college's annual Cap and Gown Day held in Roberts Hall on Wednesday afternoon.
The award is given out annually to an outstanding Rhode Island College student-athlete or student involved with intercollegiate athletics who plans on attending graduate school following the conclusion of their collegiate career.
Macera helped the Anchorwomen win two Little East Regular Season Championships, one Little East Tournament title and reach the NCAA Div. III Championship once during her career.
She totaled a 47-11 career singles record and a 50-11 career doubles mark.
As a fifth-year in 2024, Macera was named First Team All-Little East in singles and Second Team All-LEC in doubles.
As a senior in 2023, she was named First Team All-Little East in doubles and Second Team All-Little East in singles.
As a junior in 2022, Macera was named First Team All-Little East in both singles and doubles.
As a sophomore in 2021, she was named First Team All-Little East in doubles and Second Team All-Little East in singles.
As a freshman in 2020, Macera was named the Little East Rookie of the Year.
