Providence, R.I.—Junior Isabella Ba (Cranston, R.I.), along with freshmen Addison Hadlock (Littleton, N.H.) and Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.), registered their first collegiate points as Rhode Island College opened up the 2025 season with a 6-1 win over Hartford at the RIC Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Ba and Hadlock paired for a 6-0 shutout at third doubles.
 
• Senior Li hsiu Hou (Kingston, R.I.) made short work of her opponent at No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-1) before sophomore Arianna De Thomas (Providence, R.I.) secured a shutout (6-0, 6-0) at first singles.
 
• Senior Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) clinched the match with a (6-1, 6-1) sweep at No. 2 singles.
