Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College sophomore Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) and freshman Faith Owren (Richmond, R.I.) were recognized by the Little East for their respective performances in a 2-0 week for the Anchorwomen.
Peacock was named the Little East Player of the Week. She went 2-0 at both No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles as the Anchorwomen defeated UMass Dartmouth, 7-0, on Oct. 16 and UMass Boston, 5-2, on Oct. 18. She is currently 12-0 at both No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles on the season.
Owren was named the Little East Rookie of the Week. It is the second time this season that she has received this award. Owren went 1-1 at No. 3 doubles and 2-0 at No. 5 singles in the wins over the Corsairs and Beacons. She is currently 13-0 at primarily No. 5 singles and 7-2 at No. 3 doubles on the season.
Head Coach Adam Spring's team is the 2025 Little East Regular Season Champions and are 13-0 overall and 8-0 in the Little East. RIC is the top seed and owns the homecourt advantage in the Little East Championship, which begins on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
In upcoming action, No. 1-seeded RIC will host the winner of No. 5 Southern Maine/No. 4 UMass Dartmouth in the semifinals on Thursday, Oct. 23 (3 p.m.).
