Nathan Lackman (Wernersville, Pa.) was named the 2023 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Wrestler of the Year as the league announced its postseason awards on Friday afternoon. It is the second straight season that Lackman has received this award.
Lackman was also named First Team All-NEWA at 165 lbs. and to the league's All-Academic team. He was the NCAA Div. III National Champion at 165 lbs., earning a national title for the second consecutive season (157 lbs.; '22). He was the NCAA Div. III Northeast Regional champion at 165 lbs. and was named the tourney's Most Outstanding Wrestler. During the season, he placed first at the Doug Parker Invitational and sixth at the prestigious Midlands Championship. Lackman went 39-3 with eight pins, eight technical fall wins, 89 takedowns and 29 near-falls. He was also named a NWCA Scholar All-American.
Senior
Eric Zane (Quaker Hill, Conn.) was named an Honorable Mention All-NEWA at 157 lbs. and to the league's All-Academic Team. Zane earned All-Region honors with a fifth place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. He was 19-12 at 157 lbs. with 48 takedowns and nine near-falls on the season. Zane finished first at the Doug Parker Invitational during the season. He was also named a NWCA Scholar All-American.
Freshman
Brett Redner (Butler, N.J.) was named to the NEWA All-Rookie Team at 125 lbs. He was 18-10 with eight pins, 29 takedowns and 11 near-falls on the season.

Jay Jones' team finished the season 19
th in the nation at the NCAA Div. III National Championship. The Anchormen finished 14
th at the NCAA Div. III Northeast Regional Championship and 10
th at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Dual Championship. RIC was 11-12 in dual meet action on the season.
