New London, Conn.—Rhode Island College had three wrestlers earn All-Northeast Region honors at the 2026 NCAA Div. III Northeast Regional Wrestling Championship, hosted by Coast Guard on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College finished in 15
th place (19 teams) with a team score of 34.0. Springfield won the title with a total of 170.5 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Fifth-year
Aidan Faria (Cumberland, R.I.) earned All-Northeast Region honors with a sixth place finish at 174 lbs. Faria went 2-0 before falling in the semifinals. He wrapped up the tournament with a 2-3 record, which included a pin.
• Freshman
Domenick Sousa (Smithfield, R.I.) earned All-Northeast Region honors with a sixth place finish at 125 lbs. After dropping his first match, Sousa won his next three bouts to finish 3-3 at the tournament. He had one pin and a pair of decisions.
• Senior
Wil Hunt (Providence, R.I.) earned All-Northeast Region honors with an eighth place finish at 157 lbs. After dropping his first bout, Hunt won twice with a pair of pins, before finishing with a 2-3 mark at the championship.
