2022 Rhode Island College Women's Outdoor Track & Field Summary

Providence, R.I.—Head Coach Timothy Rudd's team concluded the 2022 season with two student-athletes qualifying for the NCAA Div. III National Championship, held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on May 27-28.
 
The Anchorwomen finished eighth (33 teams) with a team score of 34.0 at the 2022 New England Div. III Championship, hosted by Williams on May 6-7.
 
Rhode Island College finished fourth (eight teams) with a team score of 75.0 at the 2022 Little East Championship, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on April 30.
 
Graduate Oluwafunmibi Yusuff (Providence, R.I.) was named All-Region in the hammer by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Yusuff placed 13th in the hammer (49.79m) at the N.E. Open Championship on May 13. She earned All-N.E. honors in the hammer with a fifth place finish (48.24m) and placed 13th in the discus (33.63m) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 6-7. Yusuff earned Second Team All-Little East honors in the hammer with a second place finish (48.51m), while also placing third in the shot (11.05m) and fourth in the discus (34.12m), at the Little East Championship on April 30.  She placed sixth in the hammer (46.90m), ninth in the shot (10.69m) and 10th in the discus (32.04m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. Yusuff placed third in the hammer (48.07m), sixth in the shot (10.94m) and seventh in the discus (33.27m) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. She finished 10th in the shot (10.36m) at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational on April 2.
 
As a senior in 2019, she finished sixth in the hammer (45.40m) at the MIT Final Qualifier on May 16. Yusuff earned All-New England with a seventh place finish in the discus (36.05m), while also finishing 12th in the hammer (42.64m) and 15th in the shot (10.84m), at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 4. Yusuff earned N.E. Alliance honors (Little East Champion) with a fourth place finish in the discus (34.22m), while also placing seventh in the shot (11.00m), at the N.E. Alliance Championship on April 27. Yusuff finished second in both the shot (11.05m) and the discus (32.72m) and fourth in the hammer (45.99m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 20. Yusuff finished first in the hammer (50.34m), sixth in the shot (11.25m) and eighth in the discus (33.91m) at the SNHU Invitational on April 13. She placed second in the hammer (49.78m), fourth in the shot (11.12m) and sixth in the discus (30.72m) at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational on April 6. Yusuff finished 13th in the shot (10.87m) and 17th in the discus (32.86m) at Bryant's Black & Gold Invitational on March 30. Yusuff finished fourth in the hammer (47.15m), eighth in the shot (11.12m) and 11th in the discus (33.05m) at the USF Bulls Invitational on March 23.
 
As a junior in 2018, she finished sixth in the hammer (46.01m) at the MIT Final Qualifier on May 17. Yusuff earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the hammer (47.61m) and also placed 25th in the shot (10.26m) at the N.E. Championship on May 5. She earned N.E. Alliance honors with a third place finish in the hammer (46.13m) at the Alliance Championship on April 28. She also finished eighth in the discus (33.43m) and seventh in the shot (11.13m). Yusuff finished fifth in the shot (10.34m), seventh in the hammer (44.89m), and 17th in the discus (23.92m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 21. She finished fifth in the hammer (46.00m), 19th in the discus (29.07m) and 24th in the shot (10.07m) at the Silfen Invitational on April 14. Yusuff finished third in the hammer (46.71m), eighth in the shot (10.48m) and ninth in the discus (29.58m) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 7. She finished seventh in the shot (10.90m), 11th in the hammer (43.47m) and 14th in the discus (30.45m) at the Black and Gold Invitational on March 31.
 
As a sophomore in 2017, placed 17th in the hammer (39.28m) at the N.E. Championships on May 5-6. She placed fourth in the hammer (45.28m), eighth in the shot (10.88m) and ninth in the discus (29.21m) at the Alliance Championship on April 29. Yusuff placed fourth in the hammer (45.17m) and 20th in the discus (27.59) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 22. She placed third in the hammer (42.57m), 16th in the discus (27.26m) and 18th in the shot (9.90m) at the Silfen Invitational on April 15. Yusuff placed 12th in the hammer (37.23m) and 24th in the shot (9.68m) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 8.
 
She earned a bachelor's degree in 2019 from Rhode Island College 2019 and is currently working on her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.
 
Senior Jaime Moretti (Warwick, R.I.) placed 15th in the 4x100m relay (52.99) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 7. She earned Second Team All-Little East honors in the 4x400m relay with a second place finish (4:25.01), while also placing fifth in the 4x100m (52.44), seventh in the 100m (13.10), eighth in the long jump (4.45m) and 13th in the 200m (28.60), at the Little East Championship on April 30. Moretti placed second in the 4x100m relay (53.00), 10th in the 100m (13.36) and 14th in the long jump (4.38m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. She placed ninth in the long jump (4.63m), 12th in the 100m (13.32) and 14th in the 200m (28.36) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. Moretti placed third in the 4x400m relay (4:27.14), sixth in the 100m (13.04), ninth in the 4x100m relay (53.69), 10th in the long jump (4.28m), 12th in the triple jump (9.37m) and 21st in the 200m (28.26) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. She finished 21st in the 100m (13.45) and 28th in the 200m (28.22) at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational on April 2.
 
She is a justice studies major and a 2018 graduate of Pilgrim High School.
 
Senior Bryana Mullin (Warwick, R.I.) placed 15th in the 4x100m relay (52.99) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 7. She earned Second Team All-Little East honors in the 4x400m relay with a second place finish (4:25.01), while also placing fifth in the 4x100m (52.44), at the Little East Championship on April 30. Mullin placed second in the 4x100m relay (53.00) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. She placed third in the 4x400m relay (4:27.14) and ninth in the 4x100m relay (53.69) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9.
 
In 2021, she finished seventh in the 800m (2:39.72) at the Little East Championship on May 1. Mullin finished fourth in the 800m (2:37.29) at the Eastern Connecticut Invitational on Apr. 23.
 
As a sophomore in 2019, she finished 15th in the 800m (2:36.18) at the N.E. Alliance Championship on April 27. Mullin finished 24th in the 800m (2:35.96)  at the SNHU Invitational on April 13. She finished 25th (2:37.56) in the 800m at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational on March 30. She finished 39th in the 800m (2:51.89) at the USF Bulls Invitational on March 23.
 
As a freshman in 2018, she finished seventh in the 4x800m relay (10:37.03) at the Alliance Championship on April 28. Mullin finished 20th in the 1500m (5:33.74) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 21. She finished 67th in the 800m (2:49.64) at the Silfen Invitational on April 14. Mullin finished 26th in the 800m (2:47.86) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 7.
 
She is a nursing major and a 2017 graduate on Pilgrim High School.
 
Senior Chelsea Yang (Warwick, R.I.) qualified for the NCAA Div. III National Championship in the hammer for the third time in her career. Yang was named All-Region in the hammer by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). She finished third in the hammer (56.58m) at the N.E. Open Championship on May 13. Yang was the N.E. Champion and earned All-New England honors with a first place finish in the hammer (54.10m) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 6. She placed first in the hammer (57.51m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. Yang placed first in the hammer (54.30m) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. She placed first in the hammer (53.35m) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9. She was named the Little East Women's Field Athlete of the Week four times on the season.
 
As a sophomore in 2019, she finished 11th in the hammer (49.66) at  the NCAA National Championship on May 25. Yang finished first in the hammer (51.29m) at the MIT Final Qualifier on May 16. Yang placed second in the hammer (53.74m) at the N.E. Open Championship on May 11. Yang was the New England Champion in the hammer (51.74m) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 4. Yang earned N.E. Alliance honors, was the N.E. Alliance Champion and established a Little East Conference and program record throw in the hammer (54.23m), while also finishing ninth in the shot (10.48m) at the N.E. Alliance Championship on April 27. Yang finished first in the hammer (48.67m) and sixth in the shot (10.58m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 20. Yang finished second in the hammer (50.12m) and 19th in the shot (10.39m) at the  SNHU Invitational on April 13. She finished ninth in the hammer (43.44m) at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational on March 30.
 
As a freshman in 2018, she was named the Little East Women's Rookie Field Athlete of the Year. Yang finished in 19th place (48.98m) in the hammer at the NCAA Div. III National Championship on May 26. She finished 10th in the hammer (43.41m) at the MIT Final Qualifier on May 17. Yang finished seventh in the hammer (52.34m) at the N.E. Open Championship on May 11-12. She was the N.E. Champion and earned All-New England honors in the hammer with a first place finish (53.24m) at the N.E. Championship on May 5. Yang won the Alliance and Little East titles, earning N.E. Alliance honors, with a first place finish in the hammer (52.69m) at the Alliance Championship on April 28. She finished third in the hammer (49.53m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 21. Yang finished first in the hammer (53.34m) and 28th in the shot (9.95m) at the Silfen Invitational on April 14. She finished first in the hammer (51.87m) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 7. She finished first in the hammer (50.46m) at the Black and Gold Invitational on March 31.
 
She is a biology major and a 2017 graduate of Pilgrim High School.
 
Senior Trinity Hayes (Providence, R.I.) has an additional year of eligibility remaining and plans on competing next season. She was named All-Region in both the 200m and 400m by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). She was also named the Little East Women's Track Athlete of the Year. Hayes finished 21st in the finals of the 400m at the NCAA Div. III National Championship on May 27. She finished fifth in the 400m (56.48) and seventh in the 200m (25.04) at the N.E. Open Championship on May 14. Hayes earned All-New England honors by finishing first in the 400m (57.22), fourth in the 200m (24.90) and seventh in the 100m (12.73) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 6-7. She also placed 15th in the 4x100m relay (52.99) and placed seventh in the preliminaries of the 100m (12.73) at the meet. Hayes was the Little East Champion and earned First Team All-Little East honors with first place finishes in both the 200m (25.93) and the 400m (57.69) at the Little East Championship on April 30. She also earned Second Team All-Little East honors in the 4x400m relay with a second place finish (4:25.01). Additionally, Hayes finished fifth in the 4x100m (52.44), eighth in the 100m (13.95) and 10th in the long jump (4.27m) at the meet. She placed second in both the 400m (57.85) and 4x100m relay (53.00), third in the 200m (25.49) and 13th in the long jump (4.45m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. Hayes placed first in the 400m (57.77), third in the 200m (25.49), fifth in the 100m (12.79) and 13th in the long jump (4.49m) at the Penmen Relays on April 16.  She placed second in both the 100m (12.40) and the 200m (25.56), third in the 4x400m relay (4:27.14), fourth in the long jump (4.79m) and ninth in the 4x100m relay (53.69) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9. Hayes finished fourth in the 400m (58.34) and ninth in the 200m (26.08) at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational on April 2. She was named the Little East Women's Track Athlete of the Week four times on the season.
 
Senior Melissa Mejia (Warwick, R.I.) has an additional year of eligibility remaining and plans on competing next season. She placed third in the hammer (44.30m) and 11th in the discus (27.49m) at the Little East Championship on April 30. She placed seventh in the hammer (43.98m) and 13th in the discus (30.63m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. Mejia placed third in the discus (36.28m) and sixth in the hammer (45.36m) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. She placed fifth in the hammer (42.66m) and 10th in the discus (30.95m) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9. Mejia placed eighth in the discus (34.82m) and 15th in the hammer (41.03m) at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational on April 2.
 
Freshman Hayley Chartier (North Scituate, R.I.) was named All-Region in the hammer by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Chartier placed 15th in the hammer (48.41m) at the N.E. Open Championship on May 13. She earned All-N.E. honors in the hammer with a fourth place finish (49.26m) and placed 22nd in the discus (31.82m) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 6-7. Chartier was the Little East Champion and earned First Team All-Little East honors in the hammer (48.88m), while also placing seventh in both the shot (10.29m) and discus (31.96m,) at the Little East Championship on April 30. She placed third in the hammer (50.11m), fifth in the discus (36.09m) and 13th in the shot (9.84m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. Chartier placed fourth in the hammer (47.18m), fifth in the discus (35.85m) and 11th in the shot (9.53m) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. She placed second in the hammer (48.41m), fifth in the shot (10.35m) and 11th in the discus (30.35m) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9. Chartier placed seventh in the hammer (50.26m) and ninth in the shot (10.54m) at Bryant the Black & Gold Invitational on April 2. She was named the Little East Women's Rookie Field Athlete of the Week once on the season.
 
Freshman Johnna Gallo (West Warwick, R.I.) placed 15th in the 4x100m relay (52.99) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 7. She earned Second Team All-Little East honors in the 4x400m relay with a second place finish (4:25.01), while also placing fifth in both the 800m (2:36.84) and the 4x100m (52.44) and sixth in the 400m (1:04.63), at the Little East Championship on April 30. Gallo placed second in the 4x100m relay (53.00), 11th in the 400m (1:03.62) and 18th in the 200m (28.49) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. She placed sixth in the 400m (1:05.03) and 19th in the 200m (28.89) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. Gallo placed third in the 4x400m relay (4:27.14), ninth in the 4x100m relay (53.69) and 17th in the 400m (1:05.54) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9. She placed 24th in the 800m (2:28.93) at the Bryant Black & Gold  Invitational on April 2.
 
Freshman Samantha Sainristil (Cranston, R.I.) was named All-Region in the discus by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Sainristil placed 20th in the discus (32.99m) at the N.E. Div. III Championship on May 7. She earned Second Team All-Little East honors in the discus with a second place finish (37.10m), while also placing eighth in the hammer (35.76m) and ninth in the shot (9.79m), at the Little East Championship on April 30. Sainristil placed seventh in the discus (34.14m), 12th in the hammer (38.19m) and 17th in the shot (9.28m) at the Sean Collier Invitational on April 23. She placed sixth in the discus (34.73m), ninth in the hammer (38.37m) and 14th in the shot (9.16m) at the Penmen Relays on April 16. Sainristil placed seventh in the discus (32.51m), ninth in the hammer (34.12m), 12th in the shot (9.18m) at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational on April 9. She placed 13th in the discus (32.66m), 19th in the hammer (36.53m) and 20th in the shot (8.60m) at the Bryant Black & Gold  Invitational on April 2.
