Providence, R.I.—Rhode Island College senior Haley Oliver (Coventry, R.I.) and the Anchorwomen's 4x400m relay team were recognized by the Little East for their respective performances at Southern Connecticut's Art Kadish Elm City Challenge on Dec. 12-13.
Oliver was named the Little East Women's Track Athlete of the Week. She won the mile (5:12.59) and also finished second in the 4x400m relay (4:12.51).
Oliver joined freshman Naibel Noriega (Providence, R.I.), sophomore Quiana Pezza (Cranston, R.I.) and junior Lexie Zakrzewski (Taunton, Mass.) on the 4x400m relay, which was named the Little East Women's Relay Team of the Week. They finished second (4:12.51).
Head Coach Timothy Rudd's team finished third (11 teams) with a team score of 57.5. Southern Connecticut won the meet with a team score of 178.0.
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 10 (Noon).
