Box Score Providence, R.I.--Junior forward Tim Deng (Portland, ME) led the Anchormen with a 19-point, 11-rebound, double-double as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team fell to Western Connecticut, 77-66, in their Little East regular season finale played at the Murray Center on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• An action packed first half saw 10 lead changes and the score tied on two occasions.
• The Colonials used an 8-2 run to close out the half and take a six-point, 35-29, lead into the intermission.
• RIC junior guard Keyshaun Jacobs (Lynn, MA) led the Anchormen with 10 points in the first half, while WCSU senior forward Fenton Bradley Jr. (Mansfield, CT) led the Colonials with 10 at the break.
• RIC cut the lead down to a single point, 52-51, following a dunk by Deng with 11:23 left to play.
• Fenton Jr. caught an alley-oop dunk from junior center Wes Nelson (Queens, NY) to push the Western Connecticut lead to nine points, 62-53, with 8:49 remaining in the game.
• Fenton drained a corner three with 1:33 remaining to put the Colonials on top, 74-65, and that was all the visitors needed to close out the Anchormen.
• Four Anchormen registered double-digits on the night.
• Jacobs ended the night with 15 points and three rebounds. Senior forward Ben Vezele (Providence, RI) chipped in with 19 points and grabbed 13 boards.
• Freshman guard Shion Darby (Peekskill, NY) added 10 points and dished out seven assists. Senior guard Jonatan Batista (Providence, RI) handed out 10 assists on the night.
• Batista and Vezele, along with their families, were honored as part of Senior Night with a ceremony prior to the game.
• Bradley finished with a game-high 30 points to go along with seven rebounds and one assist.
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 30 percent (23-for-78) from the field, 27 percent (11-for-41) from three-point range and 75 percent (9-for-12) from the foul line.
• WCSU shot 44 percent (31-for-71) from the field, 37 percent (10-for-27) from three-point range and 39 percent (5-for-13) from the foul line.
• WCSU controlled the glass with a 56-44 advantage. Both teams pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play in the 2020 Little East Men's Basketball Championship, which begins on Feb. 25. The final seedings will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 21.
