Adam Spring Notches 100th Career Win in, 9-0, Victory at UMass Dartmouth

Dartmouth, Mass.—Rhode Island College Head Women's Tennis Coach Adam Spring notched his 100th career victory as the Anchorwomen rolled past UMass-Dartmouth, 9-0, in Little East action on Tuesday afternoon at the UMD courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC juniors Grace Zangari (Saunderstown, RI) and Hailey Raskob (North Smithfield, RI) defeated UMD juniors Michelle Aftandilian (Watertown, MA) and Jordan Martin (Taunton, MA), 8-0, at No. 2 doubles.

• RIC sophomore Casey Burns (Westbrook, CT) and freshman Jenna Lisi (Cranston, RI) picked up an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles vs. UMD freshman Lauren Morgart (Weston, MA) and senior Jaime Fastino (Rehoboth, MA).

• RIC juniors Serena Bobola (Cranston, RI) and Emily Orticerio (Smithfield, RI) defeated UMD senior Natasha Shiku (North Grafton, MA) and junior Rachel Aftandilian (Watertown, MA), 8-3, at No. 3 doubles to put the Anchorwomen up, 3-0.

• Raskob defeated M. Aftandilian (6-0, 6-1) at No. 3 singles.

• RIC junior Victoria Vittori (New Bedford, MA) defeated R. Aftandilian (6-2, 6-1) at No. 4 singles to clinch the win for the Anchorwomen.

• RIC sophomore Clara Siegmund (Pomfret, CT) defeated UMD senior Melanie Wong (Somerset, MA) (6-1, 6-3) at No. 5 singles.

• Lisi defeated Morgart (6-1, 6-4) at No. 1 singles.

• Zangari defeated Fastino (6-1, 4-6, 10-8) at No. 2 singles.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Clark on Thursday, Sept. 26 (4 p.m.)
