Box Score Boston, Mass.--Sophomore center Willcia McBorrough (Providence, RI) led the Anchorwomen with 22 points to go with nine rebounds and two steals as the Rhode Island College women's basketball defeated Emmanuel College 62-55, at the Jean Yawkey Center on Monday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen held the largest lead, 11-6, during the first quarter, but the hosts would eventually knot the game up at 14 apiece before the end of the period.
• The Saints gained control during the second quarter and held a 25-20 lead with 4:13 left in the quarter. The Anchorwomen clawed back and retook the lead going into the halftime break, 28-27.
• The third quarter was back and forth the entire way. Both teams lost and regained the lead, but it was the Saints at the end of the quarter that held a three-point advantage, 43-40.
• Following a free throw made by EC senior guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (Cambridge, MA) cut the visitor's deficit down to four points, 54-50, with 2:55 left in the fourth quarter. The Anchorwomen outscored the Saints, 8-5, to close out the game and secure the win.
• Junior guard Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, MA) poured in 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had three steals. Senior guard Jordyn Gauvin (Fall River, MA) nearly recorded a triple-double with eight points, eight rebounds and six assists. Senior forward Fataya Larry (Brooklyn, NY) recorded four points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
• Loredana D'Agostino (Broad Brook, CT) led the Saints with 16 points and seven rebounds. Ramirez-Tejeda finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC shot 42 percent (22-for-52) from the field, 25 percent (3-for-12) from beyond the three-point arc and 68 percent (15-for-22) from the foul line.
• EC shot 39 percent (22-for-56) from the field, 17 percent (1-for-6) from downtown and 71 percent (10-for-14) from the line.
• RIC outrebounded EC, 36-32, and held the advantage in the paint, 32-24.
