The Rhode Island College women's tennis team ran its unbeaten streak to three matches with an impressive, 9-0, victory over Suffolk in a non-conference contest played at the RIC Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC easily took all three doubles matches to leap out to a 3-0 lead and then cruised to wins at all six singles matches to take the shutout victory.
• Senior Dayna Reilly (Swansea, MA), the reigning Little East Conference Player of the Week, posted a commanding (6-0, 6-0) win over junior Delaney Dunlap (Hingham, MA) at No. 1 singes. Reilly also teamed with freshman Emily Orticerio (Smithfield, RI)for a near-perfect (8-1) win against Dunlap and senior Isabel Rathlev (Wellesley, MA)at the No. 1 doubles spot.
• Junior Katherine Braganca (Pawtucket, RI) also had a pair of wins on the day for the Anchorwomen, taking a perfect (6-0, 6-0) win over Rathlev at No. 3 singles. She posted an (8-3) victory with senior Isabella Romeo (Greenville, RI) at No. 2 doubles against the Rams team of sophomore Kelley Hardy (Charleston, SC) and junior Elena Cisneros Garcia (Barcelona, Spain).
• Freshman Grace Zangari (Saunderstown, RI) wrapped up the multiple-winners for RIC. Zangari opened the day with an (8-1) win with freshman Victoria Vittori (New Bedford, MA) at the third doubles spot against sophomore Danlyn Medou (Inglewood, CA) and junior Meagan French (Newton, NH). Zangari also had a (6-1, 6-0) victory at No. 2 singles against Cisneros-Garcia.
• Other singles victories for RIC included freshman Hailey Raskob (North Smithfield, RI) posting a (6-2, 6-1) win against Hardy at the No. 4 spot. Freshman Laurel Ten Eyck (Warwick, RI) took a (6-3, 6-1) victory over Medou. Freshman Olivia Campanella (Chepachet, RI) notched her first collegiate victory at the No. 6 singles spot with a (6-0, 6-2) win over senior Jacquelyn Najamura (Rancho Santa Fe, CA).
BY THE NUMBERS
RIC earned their fifth-straight home opening victory, dating back to the 2013 opener, an 8-1 win over Suffolk on Sept. 7.
