Sarah Pimentel (Cranston, R.I.) scored the Anchorwomen's first goal for the season, which proved to be the game winner, as the women's soccer team took down Salem State, 2-0, at Alumni Field on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Pimentel and the Anchorwomen started the scoring in the 21st minute off a counterattack, which set the tone early for the visitors.

• RIC kept applying the pressure in the later stages of the first half and took the one-goal advantage into halftime.

• Ten minutes into the second half, senior forward
Rylan Tinjum (Franktown, Colo.) scored a deep goal from way outside the box to give the Anchorwomen an insurance goal.

• The RIC defense was stellar in the second half, allowing just three shots, to blank the hosts in their opener as well.

Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) recorded seven saves and notched the clean sheet for her third career shutout in the win (1-0).
