Macaruso Scores Twice in, 19-4, Loss at Eastern Connecticut

Willimantic, Conn.--Sophomore midfielder Brie Macaruso (Ashaway, R.I.) posted a pair of goals, four draw controls and caused three turnovers as Rhode Island College lost, 19-4, vs. Eastern Connecticut at RIck McCarthy Field on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Warriors were off to a clean start in the first stanza as they netted two goals and did not allow a shot by the Anchorwomen to lead, 2-0, heading into the second.
 
• RIC only managed to get off a pair of shots in the second period as Eastern dominated and led, 10-1 at the halftime.
 
• Sophomore attacker Kaylee Vieira (East Providence, R.I.) scored RIC's second goal of the game, but not before the Warriors poured in four more in the third.

• Sophomore goalkeeper Abaigeal Estano (Goffstown, N.H.) suffered the loss in net (0-4) as she made a season-high 14 saves.
 
• Junior midfielder Lily Nees (Rehoboth, Mass.) registered one goal, four ground balls and four draw controls.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at Plymouth State on Saturday, April 11 (noon).
