RIC Wraps Up Second Seed in Upcoming LEC Championship with Win on Senior Day

Providence, R.I.—Seniors Kyle O'Connor (Foster, R.I.) and Sairaj Srinivasan (Cedar Grove, N.J.) each earned wins as Rhode Island College closed out the regular season with a 6-1 win over Salem State at the RIC Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen took all three doubles matches to secure the contest's first point. Srinivasan and O'Connor paired for a 6-2 win at third doubles.
 
• Sophomore James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) won in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) at No. 4 singles, while classmate Kyle Neuendorf (Attleboro, Mass.) put RIC in position to clinch with a (6-1, 6-0) victory at sixth singles.
 
•  Sophomore Ethan Clegg (Chepachet, R.I.) won at second singles (6-3, 6-1) for the decisive fourth point.
 
• Srinivasan and O'Connor, along with their families, were recognized as part of Senior Day following the win.
 
• RIC clinched a bye in the upcoming LEC Championship with a second place finish in the league.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, second-seeded Rhode Island College will face the winner of third-seeded UMass Boston vs. sixth-seeded Southern Maine in a semifinal match of the 2026 Little East Men's Tennis Championship on Thursday, April 30.
