Rhode Island College (1-4)
William Peace (6-10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen had the bases loaded early in the first inning and were able to capitalize with an RBI walk by sophomore left fielder
George Threats (Cranston, R.I.).
• The visitors posted a four-run third inning thanks to Threats sacrifice fly and a two-run single by Davis.
• The Pacers grabbed two runs back in the third, but the Anchormen continued to show aggression on the basepaths as another run came across for RIC a passed ball in the fifth inning.
• But the day belonged to Davis, as he singled to center field in the eighth inning, which brought in Threats and senior right fielder
CJ Almagno (North Providence, R.I.) to give the Anchormen a five-run, 8-3, advantage.
• Senior designated hitter
Daniel Cascio (East Hampton, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs and a double on the day, while Almagno went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of walks.
• The Anchormen registered 12 walks in their first win of the season.
• Junior pitcher
