Anchormen Close Out Spring Trip With, 11-5, Setback at Catholic

Washington, D.C.--Senior catcher Sean Gallagher (Warwick, R.I.) went 2-for-4 with a homer as Rhode Island College closed out its spring trip with a loss to Catholic University, 11-5, at Talbot Field on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• A six-run outburst from the hosts in the second inning set the tone for the Cardinals early.
 
• However, the hosts committed a throwing error in the third frame, which brought freshman shortstop Ryan O'Leary (Foxboro, Mass.) to the plate to make it a five-run, 6-1, deficit for the visitors.
 
• A Gallagher homer in the fifth pulled RIC within four, but more offense in the sixth and seventh stanzas by the Cardinals took the life from the Anchormen.

• Junior pitcher Casey Williams (Watertown, Mass.) struck out two in the loss (0-2).
