Aidan Faria (Cumberland, R.I.) placed fourth at 174 lbs. as Rhode Island College finished 14
th (30 teams) at the Pete Willson Invitational on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS
• RIC placed 14
th (30 teams) with a team score of 42.5. Roanoke finished first overall with a team score of 154.0.
• It was an extremely competitive field, which was comprised of seven national-ranked teams, of which three are in the top 10 (Div. III), at the tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Faria had a strong performance at the invitational, going 5-2 with two pins and a technical fall victory. Both of his losses came at the hands of Milwaukee School of Engineering's Toren Vandenbush, who is ranked No. 13 in the nation at 174 lbs.
• Freshman
Jaden Tesher (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) finished eighth at 285 lbs. He went 4-3 with three pins at the tournament. One of his losses came at the hands of a returning national tournament qualifier.
• Senior 149 lbs.
Saliou Jobe (Woonsocket, R.I.) went 3-2 with a technical fall win at the tourney.
• Senior 141 lbs.
Hunter Lundberg (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) went 2-2 with a pair of decisions.
• Fifth-year 165 lbs.
Scott Lallas (Farmington, N.H.) and freshman 125 lbs.
Domenick Sousa (Smithfield, R.I.) each had a win at the meet.
