Holland Scores First of the Season in, 3-1, Loss at Coast Guard

New London, Conn.--Senior midfielder Jacob Holland (Warwick, R.I.) scored his first goal of the season as Rhode Island College fell, 3-1, vs. Coast Guard at Nelson W. Nitchman Field on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Coast Guard welcomed the Anchormen to Connecticut with two goals in the first 25 minutes of the game.
 
• The Anchormen found late life in the first half as senior midfielder Jacob Holland (Warwick, R.I.) scored in the 40th minute, thanks to a pass by senior forward Izaiah Karweh (Providence, R.I.).
 
• The hosts were quick to put away RIC with an insurance goal in the 58th minute, which sentenced the visitors to their fourth straight winless game.

• Junior goalkeeper Elhadji Ndoye (Cranston, R.I.) made six saves in the loss (0-2-2).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East play at home vs. Southern Maine on Saturday, Sept. 27 (1 p.m.).
