Cary, Rezendes and Pimentel Score in, 3-0, Victory at Dean

Franklin, Mass.--Freshman midfielder Sarah Pimentel (Cranston, R.I.) netted her first collegiate goal, while classmate goalkeeper Oceanna Orlandi (East Greenwich, R.I.) secured her first collegiate shutout, as Rhode Island College defeated Dean College, 3-0, at Grant Field on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen controlled the ball early on and pressured the hosts as RIC put up five shots within the first 20 minutes.
 
• The visitors finally converted as Pimentel scored what would prove to be the game-winner for her first career goal and points in the 23rd minute. RIC would head into the halftime break up by a one-goal margin.
 
• Senior forward Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) found the back of the net 13 minutes into the second half after she followed up a saved shot for her first points of the season. 
 
• Junior defender Leah Saunders (Smithfield, R.I.) played a ball over the top of Bulldogs' defense to find sophomore midfielder Hannah Rezendes (Bristol, R.I.) for a goal that secured the win in the 64th minute.

• The Anchorwomen's back line stood strong as the club outshot Dean, 27-1, and did not allow a shot on goal.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Salve Regina on Wednesday, Sept. 3 (4 p.m.).
