2024 Rhode Island College Men's Soccer Season Summary

Providence, R.I.--Head Coach Kyle Froberg's team wrapped up the 2024 season with an 11-6-3 overall record and a 6-2 (third place) mark in the Little East.
 
The No. 3-seeded Anchormen defeated No. 6-seeded VTSU Castleton, 3-2, in overtime in the first round of the Little East Championship on Nov. 5. In the semifinal round, the Anchorman tied No. 2-seeded UMass Boston, 0-0, after regulation and two overtime periods. The game proceeded to penalty kicks where RIC advanced, 5-3. In the championship final, RIC battled No. 1-seeded Western Connecticut State, to a 0-0 tie after regulation and two extra periods. The game advanced to penalty kicks where the Wolves won, 3-1, to claim the title.
 
Senior midfielder Cameron Chalue-Feeney (Barrington, R.I.) closed out his RIC career having played in 32 games, starting two of them. He had one goal and one assist for three career points.
 
As a senior in 2024, Chalue-Feeney played in 11 games starting two of them. He had one goal and one assist for three points on the year. He scored and had a helper in a 2-1 win over Southern Maine on Oct. 12.
 
As a junior in 2023, Chalue-Feeney played in 10 games.
 
As a sophomore in 2022, Chalue-Feeney played in 11 games.
 
He is a management major with a minor in marketing and a 2021 graduate of Barrington High School.
 
Senior midfielder Wilson Penafiel (Providence, R.I) joined the program after previous stints at UMass Boston and the Community College of Rhode Island. He played in 18 games, starting 13 of them. He had one goal for two points on the year. Penafiel scored a goal in a 5-1 loss to Bridgewater State on Oct. 29.
 
He is a management major and a 2021 graduate of Providence Career and Technical Academy.
 
Senior goalkeeper Wesley Perrotto (Pembroke, Mass.) closed out his career having played in 31 games, starting 28 of them. He posted a 14-8-6 overall record to go along with a 1.44 goals-against average, 142 saves, a .772 save percentage and eight shutouts in 2,631:21 of action.
 
As a senior in 2024, Perrotto played in 16 games, starting all of them. He was 9-4-3 with six shutouts, a 1.27 goals-against average, 80 saves and a .792 save percentage in 1487:59 of work. Perrotto made a career-high 16 saves in a shutout effort vs. Western Connecticut in the Little East Championship Final on Nov. 9. He recorded a seven-save shutout vs. UMass Boston in the Little East Championship semifinals on Nov. 7. Perrotto made nine saves in a 1-1 tie vs. Roger Williams on Sept. 4. He was named the Little East Goalkeeper of the Week twice on the season.
 
As a junior in 2023, Perrotto played in six games, starting five of them. He was 2-2-1 record with one shutout, a 1.40 goals against average, 27 saves and a .794 save percentage in 450:00 of work. Perrotto recorded an eight-save shutout out in a 0-0 draw against Coast Guard on Oct. 14. He stopped six in the club's, 2-1, win at Nichols on Sept. 4.
 
As a sophomore in 2022, Perrotto played in eight games, starting in six of them. He recorded a 2-2-2 record with a 2.09 GAA, 31 saves and a .689 save percentage in 603:22 minutes of action. Perrotto played in relief, stopping six shots, to complete a 3-1 win over Nichols on Sept. 10.
 
As a freshman in 2021, Perrotto played in one game, starting one of them. Perrotto was 1-0-0 with a 0.00 goals-against average, four saves and a 1.000 save percentage in 90:00 of action. Perrotto made four saves and notched his first collegiate win in the squad's, 2-0 victory against Fitchburg State on Oct. 27.
 
He is a health science major with a business management minor and a 2021 graduate of Pembroke High School.
 
Senior midfielder Anthony Recinos (Providence, R.I.) closed out his career having played in 71 games, starting 61 of them. He totaled 14 goals and 18 assists for 46 points and notched eight game-winning goals in his career.
 
As a senior in 2024, Recinos was named First Team All-Little East. He played in 19 games, starting all of them. Recinos had seven goals and 10 assists for 24 points on the year. He had four game-winning goals on the season. Recinos scored and had three assists in a 6-1 win over Fitchburg State on Sept. 7. He also had a goal, including the game-winner, and two assists in a 3-2 overtime win over VTSU Castleton in the first round of the Little East Championship on Nov. 5. Recinos was named the Little East Offensive Player of the Week twice on the season.
 
As a junior in 2023, Recinos played in 19 games, starting 17 of them. He had three goals and three assists for nine points on the season. He scored game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Maine-Farmington on Sept. 1. Recinos notched the game-winning marker in a 3-1 win at Fitchburg State on Sept. 9.
 
As a sophomore in 2022, Recinos played in 16 games, starting all of them. He had two goals and two assists for six points on the season. He scored on a penalty kick in a 3-1 win over Nichols on Sept. 10.
 
As a freshman in 2021, Recinos played in 15 games, starting eight of them. He had one goal and three assists for five points. Recinos scored the game-winning goal in a 5-1 victory vs. Elms on Oct. 23.
 
In 2020, Recinos played in two games, starting one of them. Recinos registered one goal for two points on the season. He scored his first collegiate goal, which proved to be the game-winner, in a 5-0 win over Castleton on Apr. 25.
 
He is a finance major and a 2020 graduate of Classical High School.
 
Senior defender Aidan Moriarty (Wakefield, R.I.) missed the season due to injury and plans to return for a fifth season.
 
Junior midfielder Tariq Adio (Providence, R.I.) played in 18 games, starting 16 of them. He had three goals and one assist seven points on the year. Adio scored two goals, including the game-winner with 13 seconds left in regulation, in a 2-1 win over Clark on Sept. 11. He was named the Little East Offensive Player of the Week once on the season.
 
Junior defender Alexander Bautista (Pawtucket, R.I.) played in 15 games, starting 12 of them. He had one assist for one point. He registered an assist in a 3-1 win over Nichols on Sept. 25.
 
Junior defender Lucas Duquette (Wakefield, R.I.) was named Second Team All-Little East. He played in 19 games, starting all of them. Duquette had one goal and one assist for three points on the year. He scored a goal in the club's, 6-1, win vs. Fitchburg State on Sept. 7. Duquette registered an assist in a 2-1 win over Eastern Connecticut State on Oct. 2.
 
Junior defender Daniel Grzybacz (Cumberland, R.I.) played in 15 games, starting 14 of them. He had three goals for six points on the year. Grzybacz scored two goals in a 6-1 win over Fitchburg State on Sept. 7. He also scored in RIC's, 3-2, overtime win vs. VTSU Castleton in the first round of the Little East Championship on Nov. 5.
 
Junior midfielder Jacob Holland (Warwick, R.I.) played in 10 games.
 
Junior forward Sekou Kamara (North Providence, R.I.) was named First Team All-Little East. He played in 17 games, starting 16 of them. Kamara had seven goals and three assists for 17 points on the year. Kamara scored two goals in 3-1 win over Nichols on Sept. 25. He notched game-winning goals in a 2-1 win at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 2 and in a 1-0 victory vs. Keene State on Oct. 26.
 
Junior defender Izaiah Karweh (Providence, R.I.) played in 15 games, starting two of them. He had two assists for two points on the year. Karweh registered an assist in a 3-0 win over Emerson on Sep. 17 and in a 3-1 win vs. Nichols on Sept. 25.
 
Junior defender Benjamin Morales (Providence, R.I.) played in 16 games, starting two of them. He had two assists for two points on the year. Morales registered an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over VTSU Castleton in the first round of the Little East Championship on Nov. 5.
 
Junior defender Ahrian Vasquez (Pawtucket, R.I.) played in 18 games, starting all of them. He had one assist for one point on the season. Vasquez notched an assist in a 2-1 win over Southern Maine on Oct. 12.
 
Sophomore midfielder Donovan Battle (Hudson, Mass.) played in 17 games, starting 11 of them.  He had one assist for one point on the year. Battle registered an assist in a 2-1 win over Eastern Connecticut State on Oct. 2.
 
Sophomore midfielder Joseph Flood (Westerly, R.I.) played in 12 games, starting two of them. He had one goal for two points on the year. Flood scored in a 3-1 win over Nichols on Sept. 25.
 
Sophomore midfielder Jackson Fox (Portsmouth, R.I) was named Second Team All-Little East. He played in 18 games, starting 16 of them. Fox had five goals and one assist for 11 points on the year. He notched three game-winning goals on the season. Fox scored two goals in a 3-2 win over VTSU Castleton on Sep. 21. He also scored in RIC's, 3-2, overtime win vs. VTSU Castleton in the first round of the Little East Championship on Nov. 5.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Elhadji Ndoye (Cranston, R.I) played in four games, starting all of them. He was 2-2-0 with a 2.50 goals-against average, 16 saves and a .615 save percentage in 360:00 of action. Ndoye made six saves in a 3-1 win over Nichols on Sept. 25.
 
Sophomore defender Alijah Nunes (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago) played in 14 games, starting 10 of them. He had two assists for two points on the year. Nunes registered an assist in a 3-0 win over Emerson on Sept. 17. He was named the Little East Defensive Player of the Week once on the season.
 
Sophomore midfielder Tomny Rosa (Pawtucket, R.I.) played in two games.
 
Sophomore midfielder Elijah Santos (Wakefield, R.I.) played in nine games, starting one of them. He had one goal and one assist for three points on the year. Santos scored in a 2-1 setback at Emmanuel on Sept. 1. He registered an assist in a 6-1 win over Fitchburg State on Sept. 7.
 
Freshman defender Andrew Albamonti (Westerly, R.I.) played in 16 games, starting seven of them. He had one assist for one point on the season. Albamonti's long throw-in set up the game-winning goal with 13 seconds left in regulation in the club's, 2-1, win over Clark on Sept. 11. He was named the Little East Rookie of the Week once on the season.
 
Freshman midfielder Nathan Capelo (Rumford, R.I.) played in 18 games, starting 16 of them. He had two assists for two points on the year. Capelo's goal in penalty kicks lifted the Anchormen past UMass Boston in the Little East Championship semifinals on Nov. 7. He registered an assist in a 6-1 win over Fitchburg State on Sept. 7. Capelo also added a helper in a 3-1 win vs. Nichols on Sept. 25.
 
Freshman midfielder Travis Chartier (Rehoboth, Mass.) played in 11 games.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Sebastian DaRosa (Taunton, Mass.) was a reserve on the team.
 
Freshman defender Cherif Diallo (Pawtucket, R.I.) played in three games.
 
Freshman defender Braeden Duff (Wakefield, R.I.) played in four games.
 
Freshman forward Michael Strain (West Warwick, R.I.) played in 16 games, starting four of them. He had one goal and one assist for three points. Strain scored his first career goal in a 3-0 shutout win at Emerson on Sept. 17. He registered an assist in a 1-0 win over Keene State on Oct. 26. Strain was named the Little East Rookie of the Week once on the season.
