Trinity Hayes Garners Three All-New England Awards as Anchorwomen Finish Ninth at N.E. Championship

New London, Conn.--Fifth-year Trinity Hayes (Providence, R.I.) earned three All-New England honors as Rhode Island College wrapped up the final day of competition at the New England Div. III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Coast Guard on Friday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• RIC finished in a tie ninth place (39 teams) with a team score of 34.0. Tufts finished in first place with a team score of 94.0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hayes was All-New England with a second place finish in the 400m (56.69), a third place effort in the 200m (24.66; new program record) and a fifth place performance in the 4x400m relay (4:01.92).
 
Junior Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:01.92).
 
Freshman Bendu Kamara (Pawtucket, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:01.92).
 
Sophomore Lexie Zakrzewski (Taunton, Mass.) earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:01.92).

• Senior Samantha Sainristil (Cranston, R.I.) finished 12th in the shot (11.84m).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2025 NEICAAA Championship on May 9-10.
