Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.) went 2-for-3 as Rhode Island College fell vs. Wheaton, 14-0, to close out the regular season in a non-conference matchup played at Pontarelli Field on Saturday afternoon.

• Prior to the start of the game, RIC recognized its 11 seniors and their families as part of Senior Day.

• The Lyons applied the pressure to the hosts early on by scoring three runs within the first four innings. The visitors broke the game open with a grand slam in the top of the fourth to lead by seven, 7-0.

• The Anchormen had the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, as junior
CJ Almagno (North Providence, R.I.) reached on an error, McElroy singled and senior first baseman
Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) walked, however, a fly out to end the inning would strand the baserunners.

• RIC conceded two homers in the eighth inning as the Lyons plated in six runs.
