James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) won in straight sets (6-0, 6-2) at No. 5 singles to clinch a 5-1 win for No. 1-seeded Rhode Island College vs. No. 4-seeded Western Connecticut in semifinals of the 2025 Little East Men's Tennis Championship at the RIC Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC advances to the LEC Championship Final for the third straight season. The club will be looking for the program's first Little East Tournament title since 1995 and to secure a berth in the upcoming NCAA Div. III Men's Tennis Championship for the first time ever.
• The Anchormen took two of three in doubles action to build a 2-1 advantage heading into singles play. Freshman
Travis Chartier (Rehoboth, Mass.) and senior
Noah Morin (Smithfield, R.I.) won, 8-2, at first doubles.
• RIC went into singles play needing three wins to secure the win. Morin won in straight sets (6-0, 6-2) at No. 3 singles and Chartier followed with a (6-2, 6-0) win at No. 1 singles.
• McShane then slammed the door the Wolves with his win at fifth singles.
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, No. 1-seeded Rhode Island College will host No. 2-seeded Bridgewater State in the 2025 Little East Men's Tennis Championship Final on Saturday, May 3 (11 a.m.).
