Gabrielle Macaruso (Ashaway, R.I.) scored four goals and posted a pair of caused turnovers as Rhode Island College fell, 10-9 (2 OT), vs. Lasell at Alumni Stadium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Lasers struck first with a man-up five minutes into the first and would close out the first period with a three-goal, 4-1, lead.

• Lasell would open the second with a goal, but RIC junior attacker
Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) quickly answered three minutes into the stanza.Â

• Macaruso would close out the first half with her second goal, but RIC still trailed, this time by two, 7-5, heading into halftime.

• Sophomore goalkeeper
Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) was outstanding in net in the second half, allowing just a pair of goals in the first five minutes of the third and did not allow anything else to get past her for the remainder of regulation.

• The Anchorwomen took the Lasers to overtime after being down as many as four on two occasions. The two clubs played a scoreless first three minutes before the Lasers netted the game-winner with 21 seconds left in the second extra session.

• Greene finished with four goals and one assist for five points. Senior midfielder
Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) led the Anchorwomen with five draw controls and six ground balls.

• Franco made 12 saves and tied for the game-high with 10 ground balls in the loss (0-4).
