HOW IT HAPPENED

Â
• Junior left fielder
Daniel Cascio (East Hampton, Conn.) belted another two-run homer in the second inning as RIC went up by four, 4-0.
Â
• Despite the Corsairs getting a run back in the third, Trzepacz smacked his second homer to bring it back to a four-run game in the next half inning, 5-1.
Â
• Although the visitors posted two more runs in the fourth, Camelo would tack on an insurance run in the sixth stanza with an RBI single.
Â
• Back-to-back homers from Trzepacz and senior designated hitter
Lucas Pierce (Chepachet, R.I.) in the seventh inning put the hosts up five, 8-3.
Â
• A rain delay during the bottom of the eighth would then force the game to be called due to thunder and lightning, giving RIC its first home victory of the season and snapping a six-game skid.
