HOW IT HAPPENED
• Before the start of the game, the Anchorwomen recognized its five seniors in defender Kierden Drury (Scituate, R.I.), attacker Nicolle Rosales (New Bedford, Mass.), midfielder Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.), midfielder Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) and defender Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) as part of Senior Day.

• Freshman midfielder Brie Macaruso (Ashaway, R.I.) scored at the 9:48 mark of the first 15 minutes to put RIC up by two, 3-1.

• However, Macaruso picked up her second yellow card with 23 seconds left in the first quarter and would be sidelined for the rest of the match. RIC went into the second stanza ahead, 6-5.

• The Spartans applied the pressure early in the second with back-to-back goals to lead, 7-6, but would not be able to hold on going into halftime as RIC pulled ahead by one, 9-8, on a freshman midfielder Jaina Yekelchik (North Scituate, R.I.) goal.

• The visitors once again found momentum after the break and scored three quick goals to lead by one heading into the final quarter, 11-10.

• Greene's two goals and a Marley strike would give the Anchorwomen the lead, 13-11, with six minutes to play, but costly turnovers and fouls from the hosts would lead to their demise late.

• The Spartans tied the game with 2:01 left and won a key draw control, which led to the game-winning marker on a free position shot with 32 seconds remaining.

• Marley finished with four goals. Nardolillo had three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

• Sophomore goalkeeper Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) made seven saves in the loss (1-6).
