Bison Edge Anchormen, 5-3

Dudley, Mass.--Junior right fielder CJ Almagno (North Providence, R.I.) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored as Rhode Island College was defeated by Nichols, 5-3, in non-conference action played at the Nichols Baseball Field on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first three innings, the Bison broke the game open by pouring in a five-run fourth frame.
 
• Sophomore second baseman Parker Camelo (Bristol, R.I.) knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly, which brought in fifth-year shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.), in the fifth.
 
• RIC posted a pair of runs in the seventh, stemming from a Bison throwing error off of a junior center fielder Jeren Pimentel's (Boston, Mass.) grounder to second.
 
• The hosts would slam the door in the eighth and ninth stanzas as the Anchormen dropped their seventh straight game.
 
• Fifth-year pitcher Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) took the loss (1-3).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East action at home vs. UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, April 15 (3:30 p.m.).
