HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Valiants put one run across in the first, but Sullivan slammed the door for the rest of his outing.

• RIC was able to build momentum early as fifth-year center fielder Justin Wardwell (Westport, Mass.) tied the ballgame with a single in the first.

• The Anchormen would get four more runs in the inning, paced by a senior catcher Lucas Pierce (Chepachet, R.I.) two-run double.

• RIC tallied a pair of runs in the second inning thanks to a sacrifice fly out by fifth-year shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) and an RBI single from junior left fielder Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.).

• The Anchormen tacked on two runs in the fourth and their final run in the sixth to salvage a split in their last doubleheader of the trip.

• Sophomore designated-hitter Jacob Moniz (Dartmouth, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
