HOW IT HAPPENED

Cal Parillo (Greenville, R.I.) for the game's first run.
• The Comets answered back in the top of the second inning as a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases, eventually bringing in one run and a single in the next at-bat made the score, 2-1, in favor of Olivet.
• The Anchormen bounced back in the third inning as senior first baseman
Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) cracked a double to put runners on second and third.
• Pierce then hit a double with the bases loaded, bringing two runners, and a sacrifice fly by junior right fielder
Lucas McElroy (Westport, Mass.) scored what would prove to be the game-winning run.
• The Comets rallied in the top of the sixth with two more runs, but the Anchormen's pitching was able to close the gate.
