Iannuccilli and Pimentel Lead RIC Past Stevenson, 7-2

Myrtle Beach, S.C.--Fifth-year catcher David Iannuccilli (Johnston, R.I.) went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI as Rhode Island College opened up its spring trip to Myrtle Beach with a 7-2 win vs. Stevenson in game one of a doubleheader played at Griffith Field on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen surrendered a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning to fall behind, 2-0.
 
• That would prove to be the last offensive momentum for Stevenson as RIC got the bats going in the fifth inning with senior first baseman Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) driving in a run.
 
• Rhode Island College thrived in the sixth inning, putting across five runs, thanks to a pair of RBI walks and two more RBIs off a single by junior right fielder Jeren Pimentel (Boston, Mass.).
 
• Iannuccilli notched his second RBI in the seventh with a single to cap off the final insurance run.
 
• Fifth-year starter Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) earned his first win (1-0) in his second appearance.
 
• Pimentel went 3-for-4 with four singles and two RBI.
