Dartmouth, Mass.--Freshman midfielder
Jaina Yekelchik (North Scituate, R.I.) notched her first career goals by scoring a pair as Rhode Island College fell at UMass Dartmouth, 18-7, in Little East women's lacrosse action played at Cressy Field on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore attacker
Livia Sweeney (North Kingstown, R.I.) opened up the scoring for the game at 1:05 of the first quarter, giving RIC its only lead of the game.
• The Corsairs rattled off seven straight, which carried into the next period, until Yekelchik and sophomore midfielder
Sophie DeFlitch (Hummelstown, Pa.) stopped the onslaught with two straight goals with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first half.
• Yekelchik scored her second of the game to open the second half scoring as the Anchorwomen trailed, 9-4, 35 seconds into the third quarter.
• RIC would get two more in the same period, however, UMass Dartmouth's offense powered through the third as the hosts led, 15-6, heading into the final 15 minutes.
• Senior midfielder
Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) led the team in both ground balls (five) and draw controls (controls). DeFlitch led the team in caused turnovers (three)
• Sophomore goalkeeper
Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) made 12 saves in the loss (0-3).
