Parrillo Leads RIC in, 8-1, Setback at Clark

Worcester, Mass.--Fifth-year third baseman Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI as Rhode Island College fell vs. Clark, 8-1, at the Kneller Athletic Center on Tuesday afternoon.

THE BASICS
Clark 8, Rhode Island College 1
Clark (10-3)
Rhode Island College (6-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore second baseman Parker Camelo (Bristol, R.I.) started off the game with a double and would score the first run, thanks to a Parrillo double, in the top of the first.

• The Cougars were quick to answer, recording three hits through their first three batters to even up the ballgame at one apiece.

• Clark would then take the lead with a two-out solo home-run in the bottom of the third inning.

• An RBI-single in both the sixth and seventh innings, to go along with a fielding error from the Anchormen, quickly gave the Cougars momentum as they built a four-run, 5-1, advantage.

• The hosts plated three more runs in the bottom of the eighth to put the game out of reach.

• Fifth-year pitcher Samuel Gray (Rockland, Mass.) was dealt the loss (0-3), striking out eight in six innings of work.
