RIC Caps Southern Trip With, 28-1, Blowout Win Over New England College

Myrtle Beach, S.C.— Senior first baseman Daniel Trzepacz (Mont Vernon, N.H.) went 3-for-5 with five runs scored, two RBI and a walk as Rhode Island College crushed New England College, 28-1, in the club's spring trip finale on Thursday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen ripped off nine runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back.
 
• RIC pounded out 26 hits, which included five doubles and one triple, walked seven times and was hit by a pitch on four occasions.
 
• Sophomore pitcher Kolbie Stellpflug (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) allowed one run on five hits and struck out four in seven innings of work to pick up the win (1-0).
 
• Fifth-year shortstop Izaiah Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) went 3-for-5 with four RBI and a double.
 
• Junior catcher Sean Gallagher (Warwick, R.I.) went 4-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBI.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Rivier for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15 (noon).
