Brandon Mota Wins N.E. Title in the Weight Throw

Anchormen Finish Second Among Little East Institutions at the Meet

Boston, Mass.--Junior Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) earned All-New England honors and won the N.E. Championship with a first place finish in the weight throw (17.38m) at the 2025 New England Div. III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, held at The Track at New Balance on Saturday.
 
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College finished tied for 13th (32 teams) with a team score of 13.0. Amherst finished first with a team score of 109.0.
 
• RIC trailed only Southern Maine for second among Little East institutions competing at the meet.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sophomore Enrique Edjang (Providence, R.I.) earned All-New England Honors with an eighth place finish in the weight throw (15.76m).
 
• Senior Garrett Jones (Beacon Falls, Conn.) finished 19th in the triple jump (12.80m).
 
• Junior Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) finished 22nd in the weight throw (14.44m).

• Sophomore Will Schiller (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 35th in the 400m (50.41).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2025 NEICAAA Championship, held at the Reggie Lewis Center on Friday and Saturday, March 7-8.
