New London, Conn.--Junior Brandon Mota (West Warwick, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a fourth place finish in the hammer (52.00m) as Rhode Island College finished the first day of competition at the New England Div. III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Coast Guard on Friday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• RIC is currently tied for seventh place (24 teams) with a team score of 10.0. Wesleyan is currently in first place with a team score of 21.0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior Shamus Culhane (North Kingstown, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the hammer (50.59m).
 
• Sophomore Enrique Edjang (Providence, R.I.) earned All-New England honors with an eighth place finish in the hammer (49.87m).
 
• Sophomore Gabriel Dosunmu (Providence, R.I.) finished 10^th in the long jump (6.70m).
 
• Junior Loudon Chupas (Colchester, Conn.) finished 11^th in the javelin (56.74m).
 
• Sophomore Trevor Morgan (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 19^th in the hammer (46.50m).
 
• Junior Izaiah Karweh (Providence, R.I.) finished 20^th in the 100m preliminaries (11.04).

• Sophomore Andrew Frezza (Johnston, R.I.) finished 27^th in the 10,000m (34:37.26).
