Anchorwomen Claim Share of Little East Regular Season Championship on Senior Day

Providence, R.I.—Senior guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) finished with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals as Rhode Island College defeated Keene State, 42-26, to claim a share of the 2025 Little East Regular Season Championship on Saturday afternoon at The Murray Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC finished the regular season with a 14-2 mark in the Little East and shares the league's regular season crown with UMass Dartmouth, which also posted a 14-2 mark vs. LEC competition.
 
• The Anchorwomen are the No. 2 seed and will receive a first round bye in the upcoming Little East Championship, which begins on Feb. 25.
 
• Prior the game, senior forwards Jayda Bing (Hamilton, N.J.), Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) and Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) were honored on Senior Day.
 
• The game proved to be offensively challenging for both clubs. RIC held a 26-4 lead at halftime. The Owls outscored the hosts, 23-16, in the second half, but never seriously threatened the Anchorwomen's advantage.
 
• Bing finished with six points, eight rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes. Nardolillo registered 12 points, four boards and a block.
 
• Sophomore forward Meagan Schuermann (Cooperstown, N.Y.) chipped in with six points, six rebounds, one assist and a block.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host the winner of No. 3 Southern Maine and No. 6 UMass Boston in the semifinals of the 2025 Little East Women's Basketball Championship on Thursday, Feb. 27 (7 p.m.).
